Mosquito alert in Western Mass

There is a mosquito alert in Western Mass and Northern Connecticut.

This one doesn’t come from a government agency.

It comes from us.

For the first time in three years, I saw a mosquito in my yard. The experience pointed out to me the strength of our product and service.

There were three mosquitoes that gathered around our porch on Saturday night. We treat the foliage around the porch, the railings, and the gutter line.

At first, I was surprised to see them and little bit concerned.

Is the mosquito population that bad already that this trio of miscreants was able to break through the barrier?

Mosquito Shield® is a professionally applied mosquito spray that kills and repels mosquitoes and ticks. Our vector-trained technicians treat your common use areas such as pools, decks, patios, and swing sets.  They also pay special attention to where mosquitoes and ticks breed and congregate.

Our three-pronged approach kills mosquitoes, masks your CO2 (which attracts mosquitoes), and repels them away from your property.  The spray adheres to vegetation, wood, stone/brick, and other organic materials. This creates a vertical barrier that strengthens with each visit.

As a licensed technician, I treated my own yard.

My concern subsided pretty quickly.

The mosquitoes floated around the porch seemingly bouncing off an invisible wall.  At different times each the three landed on the soffit area of the overhang. They seemed paralyzed there.

After trying to take off again, each of the mosquitoes fell as if being shot out of the sky. Once this product gets on the wings, they don’t have a chance.

There isn’t much in the way of foliage in the front of our yard which is why the mosquitoes were able to approach the porch.

That’s as far as they would get.
